Here's a question"Would you rather be blind or deaf?
I mean for me, i love music so being deaf, i will miss the music a lot (not talking though...hehe) hmmmm.... well being blind means it limit you to do a lot things by yourself... so that is more of a handicap.
I think i chose deaf...maybe becos it be more peaceful that way. but still... we still have the internet to see "words"..... words with no sound, but people's word which you are reading it with your own interpretation. And that's the problem with e-mail sometimes, it gets confusing with emotionless words.... that are just simply words.
One day i like to be in the mountains and drink a cup of wine like this from Ashes of Time...
Well... according to the Union Rescue Mission, people like me who don't have a stable income paying job and living off someone is consider a homeless. I can just say... i am super lucky. Good thing i have a loving Auntie who understand and supports me by giving me free rent in Chinatown for the time being! hahaha... but yes... I am consider a homeless.
Just when money is about to run dry, the Lord once again steps in and provides. Weird... i applied to all these simple odd jobs like teaching little kids, janitor, super market person, etc. they all never reply me. And at the right time (this coming month May), seriously... i only had like very minimum of money left... i think even some homeless probably have more then me from the government checks.... God provided me through some sales from ricebowlfactory, freelance video shoots, editing wedding video and yes... I have to finish Keitha's 3 Couch and 1 Chair (Thank You for the orders again!)
Like a primary kid trying to learn about colors, being a lazzzy idoitioic crybaby dude... i realize that mixing color makes a whole lot difference.
Here's a cigarette box inspire by the cigarette boxes in Singapore. Beleive me i use to smoke like 1 pack a day. And yeap... once i get up in the morning, the first thing i do is go to the toilet and smoke my ciggies or in the U.K. some called it "fags" ...hahaha. And on those cigarette boxes, the surgeon health warning would read "SMOKING KILLS" or like this one "Smoking Causes Cancer". And you know what... it does really makes you unhealthy and stinky and it is just so addicting. When i was working in Singapore and no one was there to tell me what to do... I walk to the bus stop to work smoking... get to work check in, then go to smoke. Work for 2 hours, smoke again. Lunch time... smoke again. After lunch... smoke again. 2 hours after lunch.... smoke again...etc. I think the only time that i stop was sleeping time. So that was the addiction. And is the delinquent life that i lead before i was set free! hahaha
Apreciation photos from Hellen miller and tomothecat. Hope to see more photos y'all in the future!
Lets just enjoy life and try to be healthy and be creative as we can be... and lets just be loving toward one another.
Well its a great sunny day here in L.A... i like it... kind of windy too, but i know, my Portland friend would say "blah blah blah blah blah .... Portland is Subterranea.... grantee better than L.A. seriously!" Well... its about perspective dude, but Portland is a cool place.
Peace & God Bless You!

Born of Frustration...
Are we all just born of frustration or born out of frustration? But we humans are just always frustrated... why? Becos if we can't get things done right, we can get all frustrated!
Like this Little Angel here... it was a joy to make, but it was a pain to paint... I honestly need to stop disliking painting colors and start enjoying it or i need a partner that loves to paint! Ha...that'll be the day.
Lately i have been trying to get some mood into the colors. Like this miniature living room business card holder, i tried to at least to add some mood in the colors as in a David Lynch film or tv-show would. If you ever seen a David Lynch film, you will see that he uses dark doom red blue rich colors for his set designs. Even though i'm not a big fan of his stories... it can really sick and freaky sometimes... but i do appreciate his experimental style and his way of directing the camera angles and movements! He is truly a classic class wacky wack original artist!
Have been making a lot of toys, but again becos of my lack of joy for painting... i've only sculpting....
Here's just a few of them... now i realize why i have a few huge shoe boxes of unwanted or unfinished toy projects!!! So that is a very stupid bad habit... sigh sigh sigh (-.-)

Well this is sort of my shop... if you look closely at it, it is actually a closet (and that is the space for my workshop on the side also). I always believe from a child's point of view, that if we once as a child can image a cardboard box from a washing machine can be some imaginary house... then this little space being a closet can be a cool little toy shop.
You know... like those hole in the wall restaurants... if you ever stop by Rowland Heights in Los Angeles , CA. There's this place on Colmia rd. (Hong Kong Plaza) that sells STINKY TOFU ... that is a true "hole in wall" place that can sit people and serve people that might be as big as your bed room or maybe two of my closet... And its perfect for Stinky Tofu! haha... ahhahh Stinky Tofu!
What is stinky tofu... you might ask??? Well...stinky tofu is a Taiwanese style tofu that is fried and serve with chillie pepper with some pickled cabbages!!! It is stinky, but it tastes awesome and you can down that with a cup of BoBa milk tea!!! ( i'm sure you know what Boba is right???)
Well Back to work!!
Peace & God Bless Y'all~

Art-FART

Something struck me one day when I was at MoCA. As I was staring at a Jackson Pollock painting and wondering what is art? Then this couple walks pass by the Jackson Pollock painting and the girl in the cool cat red dress says to the guy with the green top hat goes...
Girl: "What is this? I don't get it... what's the point?"
Guy: "Shhhhhhh...."
And then right there... it stuck me to understand that, ART is not about how good we can draw or sculpt... it is about emotion, a feeling, your interpretation... its about its the artist's own way of looking at things....
So I guess that is why Jackson Pollock's famous for putting his emotions into his colorful lines of drips in his paintings. And for something like this from the 1940s to 1950's... is something truly daring, i mean to drip "messy" lines on a canvas and make a statement about it and call it art and make the public go "what the heck??" and gets a 4 page spread in the Time magazine, it truly Punk!
And becos of that maybe that's why there is a negative term use to describe artist sometimes .. An ART-FART... i don't really know what an art-fart really means, but to me it does sound like something negative. Like the girl who snare at Jackson Pollock's drip paintings... saying "i don't get it" maybe she's thinking "What kind of pretense is this??? is just different lines of color dripping on a canvas... anyone can do that!"
Here's what Mr. Pollock had to say about his technique...
"My painting does not come from the easel. I prefer to tack the unstretched canvas to the hard wall or the floor. I need the resistance of a hard surface. On the floor I am more at ease. I feel nearer, more part of the painting, since this way I can walk around it, work from the four sides and literally be in the painting."
“ When I am in my painting, I'm not aware of what I'm doing. It is only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fear of making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well."
So after reading this.... i might think that if the girl in the cool cat red dress read what Mr. Pollock had to say about his own painting... the girl in the cool cat red dress would say "ohhhhhhhMG... that's like so art-fart!"
Here's a custom made card holder for LvAndMe. I chose the design with numbers, since she's an accountant and she chose the colors (its a very good match colors!). Well the scratch up antique version is the one i first thought it would make it look cool, i try to make it like its found objects from the street... But after LvAndMe gave me the "no-no" i have to swallow my pride and forget the antique look and retouch the numbers (hehehe). It was silly of me to scratch it like antique... looking at the antique version, it does look messy (kind of incomplete)... hummmm lesson learn. As for the final version, it still have the old 1950's look and brand new.
Well guys if your out on your first date and try to impress your girl.... Don't just get her flowers, be creative! Get a colorful gift for your future girlfriend or maybe your future wife... order a custom hand made art-toy for her and brighten up her day!
Enjoy every day and listen to some music!!!
Peace and God Bless Yo!
